She’s a 33-year-old registered nurse who, even before infertility, was no stranger to challenges, such as the eating disorder in college that almost took her life. Although she loved babies as a little girl, once she entered high school, she found herself questioning whether or not she wanted kids. However, after her dad became ill, she realized how short life was and once again desired a larger family. Today’s success story is about a woman named Alanna. She’s 34 years old and enjoys yoga, running, and hiking. Before infertility, she wasn’t nearly as aware as she is today of the challenges people face in their everyday lives. She met her husband 17 years ago, which means they have now been together for half of her life. Even before they’d been trying for a year, her family doctor suggested a semen analysis, and they were shocked when it came back with 0% morphology. Later, a reproductive endocrinologist would also diagnose her with a uterine septum. Join us to hear how her journey spanned multiple IUI and IVF cycles, only to result in conceiving their child while on a vacation getaway.

Today’s journey update is from a woman named Lindsay, who you might remember from Episode 40. She is 34-year-old a domestic violence survivor, an experience which has significantly shaped the way she approaches infertility. Before her journey began, she would describe herself as calm, focused, grounded, and centered. Now she attributes those traits to her husband and finds herself to be much more high-strung. After about 15 months of trying on their own, Lindsay and her husband began their infertility journey at her OB/GYN, who performs IUIs in the office. However, after two unsuccessful rounds of IUI, it was time to move on to IVF with a RE. Join us to hear how her RE uncovered a new diagnosis that sent her into a tailspin but she somehow remained a positive advocate for herself and others.

Today’s success story is about a woman named Kally. She’s a 35-year-old digital graphic designer who loves to bake. She met her husband through one of her best friends, and now they are coming up on their 10-year anniversary. Although she was able to get pregnant with her first child relatively easily, it just wasn’t happening when they started trying for their second. After developing a strong relationship and routine with an acupuncturist for about 9 months, they headed off to a reproductive endocrinologist who ultimately diagnosed her with endometriosis. Join us to hear how she fell into a pit of despair following two miscarriages, and they eventually became pregnant on their own after several IUI cycles.
