Today’s bonus episode guest is Dr. Allison Rodgers. She is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and has been practicing medicine since 2004. Dr. Rodgers currently practices at the Fertility Centers of Illinois. Her personal experiences with both secondary infertility and pregnancy loss have given her a unique insight into reproductive medicine in order to help you beat infertility.

Dr. Rodgers begins by answering six listener questions. The full questions are read on the air, but here are brief summaries:

  • Cary’s only abnormal issue is a slightly elevated AMH. She asks if this can be impacting the IUI process and if she should have a repeat test or ask for other tests to be done.
  • Elaine questions the relationship between endometriosis and implantation failure. She asks if laparoscopy is the best way to proceed and if it maximizes the chances of implantation. She also asks if an ERA test would be helpful.
  • Dana has had four miscarriages in the past year. She asks if Factor V Leiden is the likely cause of her losses and if aspirin should be taken before conception or after a positive pregnancy test. She also asks about possible thyroid issues and if her losses could be due to poor egg quality.
  • Paula’s husband has low motility. With seven transfers and no implantation, they’ve been tested for many issues but have no answers. She asks if clotting issues could affect implantation and if a hematologist can help.
  • Miranda’s husband had testicular cancer, but they have a daughter through IVF. With only three embryos left, she asks if an ERA test could be beneficial and if her implantation window may have changed since 2013.
  • Appy has a chronically-thin endometrial lining. She’s taking vaginal Viagra and other oral meds to prepare for an ERA with her next cycle. She asks if any additional treatments are recommended.
