Today’s Guest:

Today’s success story is about a woman named Tiffany. She began her infertility journey like a lot of women — doing IUIs through her OB. When she finally moved to a RE, it was time to try IVF. Because she once got pregnant on her own, although she miscarried at 10 weeks, her RE felt certain she would be successful with IVF. Like so many of our stories, not everything was what it seemed. Join us to hear how she found success after opening her heart and mind to other options.

As you might have noticed, there hasn’t been a Monday episode for quite a while. If you haven’t listened yet to episode 38, you might not know why. Heather’s IVF miracle was born via emergency c-section in the middle of the night 6 weeks early. Since then, it’s been a long struggle to find enough balance to be able to conduct these interviews properly.

This is the first episode of our new interview format. Each Monday will feature a success story, a journey story, or journey updates. Regardless of the interview type, the goal is to focus more on the story behind what makes the guest the person they are today.

Today’s Guest:

Today’s success story is about a woman named Kimberly. She has a huge drive to succeed, thanks to her background as a dance teacher. Kimberly always knew she wanted to be a mother, but also suspected she had endometriosis. She was familiar with the disease because of the way her mother suffered with it. Kimberly also experienced a lot of pain with her periods, frequent headaches, and anxiety. Let’s hear more of Kimberly’s story!

Today’s Guest:

Today’s episode is special in that there is no outside success story guest. Instead, I finally share my story. After being diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007, we began trying to get pregnant in 2011. We endured two miscarriages in 2012, moved to a RE and then a new RE, and were diagnosed with the MTHFR gene mutation. We began IVF and became pregnant with our twins, Eric and Alexis. At 21 weeks, my incompetent cervix couldn’t hold, and the twins were born but could not survive. This was the lowest moment of our journey.

Our success story today is Natalia, who experienced secondary infertility. Natalia has two daughters, ages 10 and 11, from a previous marriage, and had no reason to suspect infertility when she and her husband married in 2011. From that time until the present, Natalia has gone through several miscarriages, irregular ovulation, many timed intercourse cycles, and two major foot surgeries. During some of this time, her husband was deployed with the military overseas. To top it off, Natalia’s RE retired at the end of 2014!

Fragile X is a genetic condition that can lead to diminished ovarian reserve, or “primary ovarian insufficiency.” The disorder was discovered while she was engaged to be married, and she was referred to an RE and told she would likely never have biological children. Nicole was overwhelmed, attempted IVF, and then moved straight to an egg donor.
