Today’s success story is about a woman named Desiree. Before infertility, she was carefree and relaxed, but of course infertility changed that. Because she and her husband were high school sweethearts and had been together for 7 years before they got married, they were used to being just the two of them, so she wasn’t sure at first she wanted to have kids. But as soon as having kids wasn’t an option, it was all she wanted. Today’s episode is special in that there is no outside success story guest. Instead, I finally share my story. After being diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007, we began trying to get pregnant in 2011. We endured two miscarriages in 2012, moved to a RE and then a new RE, and were diagnosed with the MTHFR gene mutation. We began IVF and became pregnant with our twins, Eric and Alexis. At 21 weeks, my incompetent cervix couldn’t hold, and the twins were born but could not survive. This was the lowest moment of our journey.

Our success story today is Sarah, whose diagnoses include diminished ovarian reserve and the MTHFR gene mutation. She began trying in 2013, and after a year with no success, went to the Fertility Centers of Illinois. Her tests showed high FSH and low AMH levels, along with the MTHFR issue. There were still no real answers for the repeated chemical pregnancies she experienced.
