Today’s success story is about a woman named Paige. She knew she wanted to be a mother ever since she was in daycare as a child, but she and her husband chose to wait to start their family until they were financially ready. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. Soon she found herself undergoing testing with her GYN, all of which looked normal for both her and her husband, so they were sent on to a RE. Join us to hear how she went from a whirlwind first appointment to eventually being told she might die and never meet her son.

38: Endometriosis & MTHFR

Today’s Guest:

Today’s episode is special in that there is no outside success story guest. Instead, I finally share my story. After being diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007, we began trying to get pregnant in 2011. We endured two miscarriages in 2012, moved to a RE and then a new RE, and were diagnosed with the MTHFR gene mutation. We began IVF and became pregnant with our twins, Eric and Alexis. At 21 weeks, my incompetent cervix couldn’t hold, and the twins were born but could not survive. This was the lowest moment of our journey.

28: Fragile X & Donor Eggs

Today’s Guest:

Our success story today is Nicolewho was diagnosed as a carrier of Fragile X. Fragile X is a genetic condition that can lead to diminished ovarian reserve, or “primary ovarian insufficiency.” The disorder was discovered while she was engaged to be married, and she was referred to an RE and told she would likely never have biological children. Nicole was overwhelmed, attempted IVF, and then moved straight to an egg donor.
