Dual Factor Infertility: Jane’s Story [JOURNEY]

80: Dual Factor Infertility [JOURNEY STORY]

Today’s Guest:

Today’s journey story is about a woman named Jane. Although she’s always known she wanted to be a mom, she didn’t meet her husband until later in life. They were married last August when she was 35 and he was 38. As a couple, they both consider themselves foodies and like taking adventurous trips together. Like so many listeners, Jane is a proactive Type-A personality who saw her OB for basic testing after only 5 months of actively trying to conceive. At that point, both she and her husband received infertility diagnoses. Join us to hear how she jumped straight into IVF and what’s coming up next in her journey.

Empty Follicle Syndrome: Soleine’s Story [SUCCESS]

76: Empty Follicle Syndrome [SUCCESS]

Today’s Guest:

Today’s success story is about a woman named Soleine. Before infertility, she was a happy person who was fortunate in many ways. Her husband often jokes that, before infertility, there was a side of her personality he had never seen — a sad side. As someone with a big family that includes 56 first cousins, she always knew she wanted kids. However, because her mother had secondary infertility, she wondered if it would be a struggle for her. Let’s listen to how her journey spanned multiple continents, a rare diagnosis, timed intercourse, IUI, and IVF before she ultimately became pregnant on her own.

PCOS: Abbey’s Story [SUCCESS]

75: PCOS [SUCCESS]

Today’s Guest:

Today’s success story is about a woman named Abbey. Her journey is slightly different than many of the women I talk to because she was diagnosed with PCOS when she was 15 and therefore knew getting pregnant might be difficult. However, after making an appointment with her doctor because she felt a bit off, she and her husband learned that she was not only unexpectedly pregnant, but also carrying twins. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter they learned the twins had Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, and she eventually lost them around 12 weeks. Join us to hear how she grieved by throwing herself into life and ultimately became pregnant again via a very simple fix.

72: Blocked Fallopian Tubes [SUCCESS]

Today’s Guest:

Today’s success story is about a woman named Tammy. As the sixth child in a family of seven children, she always knew she wanted to have kids. Tammy unfortunately had to see five REs before getting an official diagnosis — one that was caused by an appendectomy when she was 8 years old. Like so many others, she was devastated when her first IVF transfer didn’t work and struggled to regain a positive attitude. Join us to hear how Tammy eventually received three diagnoses, suffered two losses, had a hysterectomy, but still ended up with two beautiful children and donated her remaining embryos.

Antiphospholipid Syndrome: Desiree’s Story [SUCCESS]

68: Antiphospholipid Syndrome [SUCCESS]

Today’s Guest:

Today’s success story is about a woman named Desiree. Before infertility, she was carefree and relaxed, but of course infertility changed that. Because she and her husband were high school sweethearts and had been together for 7 years before they got married, they were used to being just the two of them, so she wasn’t sure at first she wanted to have kids. But as soon as having kids wasn’t an option, it was all she wanted. Let’s listen to how her journey spanned 3 different doctors, multiple states, and even more extended breaks before she finally became pregnant with twins.

Today’s Guest:

When finally faced with IVF, she assumed it would work on the first try, and her world came crashing down when that didn’t happen. Join us to hear to how her journey and resources like this podcast transformed her into a self-advocate, which ultimately led to her success.
