She’s a 33-year-old registered nurse who, even before infertility, was no stranger to challenges, such as the eating disorder in college that almost took her life. Although she loved babies as a little girl, once she entered high school, she found herself questioning whether or not she wanted kids. However, after her dad became ill, she realized how short life was and once again desired a larger family. Join us to hear how both she and her husband received infertility diagnoses that had her RE recommending they head straight to IVF with ICSI — and all the loss and grief they’ve experienced since then.

Today’s success story is about a woman named Alanna. She’s 34 years old and enjoys yoga, running, and hiking. Before infertility, she wasn’t nearly as aware as she is today of the challenges people face in their everyday lives. She met her husband 17 years ago, which means they have now been together for half of her life. Even before they’d been trying for a year, her family doctor suggested a semen analysis, and they were shocked when it came back with 0% morphology. Later, a reproductive endocrinologist would also diagnose her with a uterine septum. Join us to hear how her journey spanned multiple IUI and IVF cycles, only to result in conceiving their child while on a vacation getaway.

Today’s success story is about a woman named Charlotte. She’s a 34-year-old medical librarian, and her husband works in higher education, as well. As early as third grade, she wanted to be a mother when she grew up. After only three months of dating, her husband proposed and they were married a year later. He’s always had severe chronic illnesses, so even before infertility, they had been through a lot together and she questioned whether her dream of becoming a mother would be possible. Let’s listen to how they opted to use donor sperm after considering adoption and found success with IVF.

Today’s success story is about a woman named Adelle. She’s a 35-year-old high school teacher who knew from a young age she wanted to have kids and, in fact, planned her entire adult life around them. Her infertility journey spans the better part of a decade and multiple partners. Her ex-husband was a paraplegic and thus in a wheelchair when they met when she was just 20 years old. So, when they were ready to start a family in her mid-twenties, she thought it would be a simple matter of getting his healthy sperm into her. However, with infertility, it’s rarely so simple. Join us to hear how she became pregnant with twins via IUI following two failed IVF cycles with her ex and five IUI cycles and a miscarriage with her current husband.

Before she got married, she had a feeling they would have trouble conceiving, and this suspicion was confirmed after a year of trying on their own. Today’s success story is about a woman named April. Although she always knew she wanted to be a mom, she wasn’t always sure it was going to happen. Her first husband had a lot of medical issues and ultimately passed away. It took her several years and some big life changes to move forward. However, motherhood finally felt like a possibility once she met the man who is now her husband. Although they could have seen someone sooner because she was over 35, they tried on their own for about 10 months before visiting her OB for some initial testing. Join us to hear how her journey takes her from timed intercourse to IUI to IVF and back to IUI again before they found success.

Today’s journey update is from a woman named Nadine, who you might remember from Episode 81. When we last spoke, she was just about to transfer a frozen embryo. Since then, she did that frozen transfer, which unfortunately failed. During the following cycle, her RE ran an Endometrial Receptivity Array, and she sought the opinion of a specialist in Boston about Asherman’s Syndrome to get his opinion on whether or not she should pursue surrogacy. She also recently completed another frozen embryo transfer. Join us to hear the latest in Nadine’s journey and what’s coming up next.
